Spider man 3 is a perfect example of how to take a great movie series….And completely ruin it. Every thing that made the first two movies great is absent from this cinematic train wreck.
The movie just doesn’t know where it’s going, even to the point that it tries to recreate the events of the first film just to squeeze Sandman in. Another villain (Green Goblin 2) that they had built up since the end of the first movie, becomes a roller coaster of personalities, He’s bad!….Now he’s good…He’s bad again!…No wait he’s good! The third villain(Venom) could have been cool had they saved him for Spider-man 4, but they decided 5 minutes of screen time was enough.
The humor from the first two movies has been dumbed down as well. There is a pointless scene that just has Tobey Maguire get an emo haircut and dance around the city for umpteen minutes.
The only highlights I can think of for this movie are good CGI and decent fight scenes, but last I checked it was good story and characters that made a movie and not fancy special effects.

I had seriously hoped for Harry (or Green Goblin 2 or also known as “New Goblin” on wikipedia) to be a completely awesome enemy of Spider-Man. The glider he’s on is cool, but should’ve been replaced with the original glider, but what I really couldn’t stand is his suit. How can he be the new Green Goblin when he looks nothing like the Green Goblin? Dressing up like the Green Goblin and maybe even keeping the identity a secret from everyone in this movie would’ve made it more interesting, kind of. I also didn’t like how Gwen Stacey was used in this film. If she exists in this series, she should’ve been used in the first movie with the original Goblin. You must know that in the comics, Gwen dies while Spider-Man fights the Green Goblin…
