Top Ten Strong Bad emails!

“Two hundred sbemails, exhausting just to think about. How can we face two hundred sbemails? The thought of all those sbemails makes me weeeeeeeeeeeak!”

A lot has happened since Abdi LaRue sent the first ever Strong Bad email, asking the timeless question, “Do you take your wrestling mask and boxing gloves off when you go to bed?”. Little did Abdi know that he was the first of many others that would help make Strong Bad emails (and Homestarrunner.com in genereal) into an internet phenomenon. A phenomenon that would spawn many classic Homestar Runner characters, jokes and running gags like Sweet Cupin’ Cakes, Teen Girl Squad, Limozeen and, of course, Trogdor. One hundred and ninety-nine emails later, and Strong Bad emails are still going strong (no pun intended). Everyone has their favorite sbemails, the following are my personal favorites.  So without further rambling, here are my top ten sbemails!

10. sbemail #149: Candy Product

Sbemail sent by Somone thats not homestarrunner

Somone thats not homestarrunner asks Strong Bad why there is no Strong Bad candy product, so Strong Bad makes one up, SBLOUNSKCHED! The SBLOUNSKCHED theme song alone helped this sbemail make my list.

9. sbemail #92: Kind of Cool

Sbemail sent by Jordan

Strong Bad answers the question of  “what it would be like if he wasn’t the stylish, buff, handsome man in a wrestling mask that he is.” His answer is that he would still be cool, just a different kind of cool, the “so cool you don’t even know I’m cool” kind of cool. He describes a taller, dumpy Strong Bad with a creepy comb-over who is “always walking around with a grocery bag full of melty candy bars that he eats really loudly while standing too close to you in line” who would later become his own character, Senor Cardgage.

8. sbemail #100: Flashback

Sbemail sent by Jon, NH

For his one hundredth email, Strong Bad is asked about his history with Homestar. How did they first meet anyway? The answer is too big to be shown in anything but…WIDESCREEN! The flashback itself doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but its storybook look and nonsensical humor put it on my list.

7. sbemail #188: fan club

Sbemail sent by David, Northern Ireland

Strong Bad talks about his fan club, known as the ‘DELETHEADS’ (ironically, their club president is Strong Sad). Strong Bad then goes into a rant about the next worst thing to include the word fan…Fan Fictions! The DELETEHEADS and Strong Bad’s spot on parody of “fan fics” is what makes this one of my favorite sbemails.

6. sbemail #145: myths and legends

Sbemail sent by Cephas Cornwall, CA

Strong Bad reveals the origins of the local Strong Badian legend, the dreaded Bear holding a Shark! Strong Bad shows how some people (Bubs) take advantage of “Bear holding a Shark fever” to milk whatever money they can out of it, while others (Strong Sad) are skeptic to its existence. Strong Bad’s parody of mythical creatures is hilarious, from Bear holding a Shark t-shirts to blurry photographic evidense. Strong Bad really hit the nail on the head with this one.

5. sbemail #106: Dangeresque 3

Sbemail sent by john newell, on

When asked about how production is coming along for Dangeresque 3, Strong Bad reveals he hasn’t even started making it yet..So instead he shows everyone the digitally remastered director’s cut of Dangeresque 1: Dangeresque, too? In the prequel to Dangeresque 2: This time it’s not Dangeresque 1, two Dangeresques (Strong Bad and Homestar) have to stop the evil Perduci (the King of Town) and his secret weapon, Killingyouguy!

4. sbemail #117: Montage

Sbemail sent by Steve from Surf City, NJ

Steve asks if Strong Bad can creat (yes, creat) a montage. The question is somewhat vague so Strong Bad decides to use his imagination and “creats” several montages about a waggon fulla pancakes. The different montages include Srong Bad falling in love with the waggon fulla pancakes, the wagon fulla pancakes and The Cheat becoming down-on-their-luck-door-to-door salesmen and finally, the waggon fulla pancakes training for the championship. Every montage included is funny and each could have been a seperate cartoon of their own, but put them all together and you have a AAA sbemail.

3. sbemail #58: Dragon

Sbemail sent by Kaizer, CA

Probably the most famous of all Strong Bad emails. Kaizer wants to know if Strong Bad can draw a dragon, and by doing so, the legend of Trogdor was born.

2. sbemail #118: Virus

Sbemail sent by ?

Strong Bad receives a virus in his email, and everything starts going crazy!  Bubs’ mouth becomes a broken jpeg, Strong Sad’s head levitates away from his body, the homestarrunner main page starts merging with the cartoon, ect. unfortunately for Strong Bad, Bubs takes it upon himself to “shotgun” Strong Bad’s beloved computer to stop the virus, but the pure randomness and hilarity of this sbemail put it near the top of my list.

1. sbemail #150: alternate universe

Sbemail sent by Jody (not a girl), TX

Jody (who isn’t a girl) asks Strong Bad two questions: 1: what would Strong Bad do if he had a hundred million dollars. 2: What would Strong Bad do if he found himself in an alternate universe somehow. Strong Bad claims that question number two answers question number one, because he and The cheat just spent a hundred million dollars on an alternate universe portal (which is a Nintendo Gameboy in a blender). Strong Bad then travels across different universes, meeting his various dopplegangers like Stinkoman, Old-timey Strong Bad, Senor Cartgage and Da Huuuuuudge. After his hilarious misadventure, Strong Bad and his various lookalikes join together to sing “Save the Last Email for Strong Bad”, which is probably one of the best songs on homestarrunner.com. Everything adds up into my favorite of all Strong Bad emails (although virus practically ties).

So there you have it. My top ten Strong Bad emails. I know some people may wonder why “techno” or “Japanese cartoon” weren’t on there, but I had to narrow it down to ten and I had to make a few cuts. It was a difficult decision, but in the end these were the ten that stood out in my mind as the best.

Congratulations Strong Bad on your 200th email! Here’s to 200 more!

I apologize for having this post up a little later than planned. It takes a while to watch all those sbemails and I couldn’t get around to watching them all when I originally planned. But better late than never I suppose.
