Nintendo DSi (and other type news)!

2009 will be an excellent year for Nintendo. the big N recently revealed the Nintendo DSi (the latest iteration of Nintendo’s uber popular Nintendo DS console and the latest thing to include a lowercase “i” in the title). The innevitable blockbuster handheld will include several new features like duel cameras, bigger screens, an SD card slot, and a built-in flash memory for downloading original “DSi” games. The SD cards will also allow you to play your favorite music on the system.

But the DSi isn’t the only thing Nintendo has planned for 2009, they also announced Mario and Luigi 3 and a new WarioWare for DS, as well as Wii titles such as Sin and Punishment 2 (the original was previously only released in Asia until it was rereleased via virtual console), and a new Punch Out. They have also (finally) solved the data management issues with the Wii by allowing you to save downloaded games to your SD cards from the get-go.

Nintendo also revealed the “Enjoy the Wii” collection, which are remakes of Gamecube titles revamped with Wii controls. The titles include Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Mario Power Tennis and Pikmins 1 and 2! Those were some great Gamecube games, and replaying them withh Wii controls should be really interesting. Here’s hoping for a “Wiimake” of The Wind Waker.

So it looks like Nintendo has a lot in store for 2009. Lets hope they reveal even more soon.
