Ten Great Video Game Music Themes

The Chase Music – Metal Gear Solid

Sometimes in Metal Gear Solid, it’s worth being caught by one of the guards just to hear this music.  The music is at the same time hectic and heroic, which really suits Solid Snake’s mission perfectly.  You could almost imagine this music playing during an intense action sequence in a high budget movie (I can imagine it with the car chase scene from The Dark Knight, it’s quite awesome).

Agree with almost all the themes, but as a MGS fan, I would have chosen the main theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqqq8uqSDnk , so much greatness, on any of it versions is epic. main theme MGS3 version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlnJghwNgtQ .

Just one thing, the Tetris soundtrack isn’t an original soundtrack, actually I think the author is Bach! I remember when my piano teacher taught me a new melody and… it was from Tetris 2! So of course I asked about it, and it isn’t originally from the game. And so with all the other Tetris themes.

Great article, looking forward to the next list!

The way I see it, if Sonic is the face of his franchise, then Shadow is the face of everything that has gone wrong with the franchise. He was a harmless addition in Sonic Adventure 2, but he seems to have stolen the spotlight from most of the classic Sonic characters. Not to mention he always brings in one kind of storyline or another that further changes the series from what it once was.

You’ve got a good point. By the way, don’t you just wish the games went back to the villains being just Eggman (Robotnik) and Metal Sonic instead of some random new major villain seen only once in the entires series??

I have waited for a classic Sonic vs. Robotnik game for what seems like forever. I’ll have my fingers crossed that Project Needlemouse sets things straight.
