I'm not saying Benjamin Button or Slumdog Millionaire are unworthy of the nomination, but what happened to the days when Star Wars and Raisers of the Lost Ark could also get a nomination? I heard that The Reader wasn't all that well received by alot of people, but it edges its way in over The Dark Knight. The Academy Awards have just become so short sided. I didn't mean anything against Benjamin Button or anything though.

I don't know if you saw the Curious Case of Benjamin Button I thought it was poignant, but I don't think it was deserving of 13 nominations. I do think that it will win for best makeup thought because what they did was pretty amazing. I'm sure Heath will win for best supporting actor and I also think the cinematography will go to TDK. The only other cinematography that would also worry me would be slumdog because they used these crazy digital cameras and Danny Boyle is usually pretty innovative with his cinematography, but I haven't seen it yet so I can't be sure. The sad thing about cinematography though is that I think it is lost on many people because you have to pay attention to really notice it. Here is a link to all the nominations http://www.oscars.org/awards/81academyawards/nominees.html
