With the best graphics on the Wii, one of the best soundtracks in gaming history, top notch level design and unparalleled imagination, Super Mario Galaxy proved to be a true landmark in the gaming industry. But most importantly, it’s fun. Very fun. And not just the “I’m having fun now but it won’t be fun in a few weeks” fun or the “fun for a short play session than I need to wait to play it again” fun. Super Mario Galaxy is genuinely fun, much like Mario’s predecessors and all the other truly legendary games in history. Super Mario Galaxy is a true testament how artful video games can be, and proved that in these dark times of post-apocalyptic gun fests and mindless games that glorify violence and criminal activity, that the purest of gaming designs are the ones that really shine, and prove to be the best of them.
