It still seems strange that there was an eleven year gap between Mega Man 8 (1997, Sony Playstation/Sega Saturn) and Mega Man 9 (2008, Wii/Xbox 360/Playstation 3). Thankfully, we won’t have to wait another eleven years for the next proper installment as Capcom has announced Mega Man 10!

So far details are scarce, all that is known is that it (like Mega Man 9) will have a classic 8-bit graphical style, there are three playable characters (Mega Man, Proto Man and another character who at this point remains a mystery), and that there is a boss called “Sheep Man.” I am already excited to play another proper Mega Man title, and I will be sue to keep a sharp eye on this one. Mega Man 10 is said to be looking for an early 2010 release on WiiWare, and you could probably expect it to be showing up on Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network as well.
