*Metroid: Other M*

I think there might be another other M.
Whoa Snap! Metroid is back!
When this game was announced at E3 ‘09 it was a huge and pleasant surprise. The Metroid Prime Trilogy had wrapped up in 2007 with the release of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on the Wii, and I thought that would be the last console Metroid game we would be seeing for a few good years. WRONG!
Nintendo and Team Ninja are teaming up to bring the gaming world another sure fire Metroid classic. With cinematics which look to rival those of Square-Enix (with voice acting included, a rarity for a Nintendo title), Metroid: Other M may prove to have a strong narrative to go along with the kick-awesome gameplay.
Speaking of which, Metroid: Other M looks like it will primarily be a classic, side-scrolling Metroid experience, though some first-person perspectives have already been shown. Metroid, along with Mario and Zelda, has proven to be one of the few series that can work flawlessly in both 2D and 3D, and if Metroid: Other M can conjure up some kind of combination of the two, well that is surely something to look forward to.
Again, there is no specific release date as of yet, but Nintendo hopes to make this one of their major releases this year.
