Unstoppable is a film starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pine (woo! Captain Kirk!), and is “inspired by true events.” But does Unstoppable ride the right track? Or is it as out-of-control as the 777? Read more

There is something that has bothered me for years now, the Spike TV Video Game Awards (or as they should be called, the Spike TV PS3 and 360 game awards). I have intended to write about this for a while actually, but now, with the dreadful event looming its hideous head once again, it seemed like an appropriate time to finally state my opinions on these supposed “awards.” Read more
*From what I understand a great deal of creative liberties were taken in The Social Network that differ from real events. I’m not here to compare what really happened to what happened in the movie (especially considering I haven’t done much research on this) so no unnecessary comparisons will be made.*
The Social Network tells the story of Mark Zuckerberg, the creator of Facebook, and the events leading up to (and the events afterwards) the creation of the Social Networking site. But is The Social Network a movie you should “like” or “ignore?” Read more
Doesn’t the title of this say it all? Do I really have to go on? What? I do?! Okay then.

Mario Sports Mix, the latest Mario sports title (and the first one in a good while), is being developed by Square-Enix. And Square-Enix has saw fit to mesh some of their own characters in with Mario and friends (and enemies).
White Mage, Black Mage, Cactaur, Ninja and, of course, Moogle, will all make appearances as playable characters. This is similar to Mario Hoops 3-0n-3 from a couple of years ago.
Seeing Mario and Final Fantasy clash (for the third time) will be fun. But this has me bringing an old rabbit out of my hat…
Time to bring Geno back? Please?
Megamind is the newest film from Dreamworks animation studios (and the third this year following How to Train Your Dragon and Shrek Forever After). I have sometimes been critical of Dreamworks’ animation output, but they have also proven they can pull out some quality animated features. So is Megamind one of Dreamworks’ more forgettable animated offerings? Or does it prove to be something super? Read more
Halo Reach marks something of an occasion here at Slogan Yams, as it is a prequel to the Halo series, it promises to take us “back to the beginning.” And appropriately enough, Halo 3 was the first game I reviewed on this site (though in retrospective it was an incredibly short review that I think could have been done better, but hey I was just starting). As such, the “back to the beginning” thing rings very loudly to me.
Halo Reach is the last Halo game to be made by series-creators Bungie. But is Halo Reach the swan song the series deserves? Or does it travel a little too far back? Read more
RED is an action comedy with heavy star power, which includes Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren, among others. But does the star power make RED more than just your basic action film? Read more
