This is part 2 of my character wishlist for Super Smash Bros. 4. Part 1 of my wishlist can be seen here (in case you’re too lazy to scroll down). Just a reminder, these are not numbered, just randomly throwing out Nintendo characters that I think would be awesome additions to Super Smash Bros. 4 (a future Wii U title). When I get around to third-party characters I’ll probably number that one, but for now enjoy five additional Nintendo characters.
Skull Kid
Series: The Legend of Zelda
First Appearance: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998)
Much like Rosalina, this would be a surprise-but-not-quite-obscure character from one of Nintendo’s major series.
Also like Rosalina, Skull Kid would have a lot of potential, but there’s also a good deal of mystery about him. I suppose one of his moves would involve him shooting a blast of energy from his flute, like in the game, but maybe his standard B attack would be a slingshot that shoots a deku nut. It would be kind of like Diddy’s peanut popguns, where you can charge it up for a short time, when it’s fully charged it can stun an opponent (but without the knockback effects of the deku nut item as to even things out), but if you hold onto it too long after it’s fully charged it blows up and stuns Skull Kid.
And his Final Smash? Easy. He summons the angry looking moon from Majora’s Mask, which crashes onto the stage and takes out (or at least does massive damage to) all opponents on stage.
I’d like to see Zelda get a little bit of a less-obvious representative in Smash Bros, and Skull Kid could fit that roll nicely.
Paper Mario
Series: Paper Mario (obviously a spinoff of Super Mario)
First Appearance (as Paper Mario): Paper Mario (2001)
Here’s a character that could really show just how creative SSB4 can get with its characters. Paper Mario would at once be a reimagining of a character already in the game, but he’d play entirely different from the regular Mario.
Some would say Melee already did something like this with Dr. Mario, except Melee was really lazy when it came to stuff like this, and Dr. Mario was basically the same as regular Mario, only he shot pills instead of fireballs.
But Paper Mario would prove to be a very unique character. He would share a flat, 2D visual similar to Mr. Game & Watch, and his special moves would involve his partners in some way: B-Forward could launch Kooper (or Koops with some alternate costumes) at opponents and come back like a boomerang. B-Up could work similar to Snake’s, but instead of a reconnaissance camera it would be Parakarry or something. And his B-down move would plant Bombette on the stage, who would walk around for a short amount of time or until she walks into an opponent and blows up.
And his Final Smash? Well, the obvious choices would be one of the Star Spirit’s powers like Star Storm, but that would be too similar to Ness and Lucas’ PK Starstorm. The Star Beam would make sense, with all the Star Spirits creating a huge, destructive beam of energy. But maybe a more fun take on a Paper Mario Final Smash would be Koopa Bros. Paper Mario could summon the four Koopa Bros. (a parody of the Ninja Turtles who served as a boss in Paper Mario) and they would wreak havoc on all of Paper Mario’s opponents.
Paper Mario would be a great addition to Smash Bros. who would represent the Mario RPGs. But he’s not the only character I’d want to see representing the Mario RPGs…
Yarn Kirby/Prince Fluff
Series: Kirby
First Appearance (Kirby): Kirby’s Dreamland (1992)
First Appearance (Prince Fluff): Kirby’s Epic Yarn (2010)
Kirby’s Epic Yarn is, bar none, one of the most downright charming games in years, and deserves recognition in a future Smash Bros. (an Epic Yarn stage is a must!) But character-wise the game can be represented in one of two ways: Either have a yarn version of Kirby (who would play differently than traditional Kirby) or to use Prince Fluff (who was originally to be the main character before Epic Yarn became a Kirby title).
Either way, the possibilities for an Epic Yarn character are both awesome and adorable. The moves would be based off of the many transformations of Epic Yarn: B-Up would briefly transform Kirby/Prince Fluff into a rocket (which explodes upon impact with an opponent), B-Forward would turn him into the penguin snowboarder (or whatever the heck that transformation was) and do a little spin attack.
And the Final Smash would be easy, Tankbot transformation! Kirby/Fluff transforms into the tankbot, which would punch and missile its way through opponents.
And c’mon, Epic Yarn is just s’darned cute!
Fawful
Series: Super Mario (Mario & Luigi sub-series)
First Appearance: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (2003)
He’s evil, he’s quotable, and he has fury.
Fawful may not be the most mainstream Mario character, but again, it seems now is a good time to start popping out some more obscure characters into the Smash Bros. mix.
His moveset wouldn’t be too hard to figure out. B-Up brings up Fawful’s weird helmet thing, which allows him to levitate for a short time. His basic B attack would probably just be shooting those weird, green energy things Fawful shoots, probably wouldn’t be too damaging but they could be fired in quick succession or something.
As for his Final Smash, he could possibly turn into Dark Fawful from Bowser’s Inside Story. It’d be like Wario Man, where he’d basically be a souped-up, invincible version of himself. Or maybe his Final Smash would simply be that his helmet thing appears on his head, and allows Fawful to bombard his opponents with projectiles for a little while.
It really wouldn’t matter how Nintendo went about with Fawful, just having him in the game would make it that much better. He would be the mustard of the sandwich that is the Smash Bros. roster.
Mii
Series: Wii
First Appearance: Mii Channel (2006)
Go ahead and roll your eyes, but using a Mii as a Smash Bros. character could actually prove to be a very fun idea. His/her look, and alternate costumes, would simply be your different Miis.
His/her moves can be based around various sports and stuff: B-Up might pop up a hang-glider, B-forward would send a baseball to your opponents face, ect.
And Mii’s Final Smash could simply be called “Wii Boxing.” Like Captain Falcon’s Final Smash in Brawl, it would work in close proximity, but go to a more cinematic view in a boxing ring, where the player can button mash to do extreme damage before hitting a final blow that can send an opponent off the stage.
But the best thing about having a Mii as a character is the hilarity of it. Just imagine Gene Shalit beating the snot out of Ganondorf, Oprah giving King Dedede what’s for, or what about Mario coming face-to-face with Martin Scoresese? Admit it, it would be awesome!

I’ve actually wanted to see Skull Kid for a while, but Paper Mario’s a good one. I’d find it really fun to use his paper qualities to the limit, though (and maybe get his hammer some face-time finally… Yeah, I said it). A yarn Kirby/Prince Fluff could be awesome.
As to the other list… I’d trade Cranky Kong for Dixie. That guy’s OWED.

Oh snap! How did I fail to mention Cranky?! He’s one of my favorite characters, I guess I skipped him since he’s not playable maybe?
He’s making the next five.
