Happy Halloweens!!

Happy Halloween!

Enjoy this clip from Batman Begins featuring the Scarecrow (my favorite Batman villain who Christopher Nolan can’t seem to undersell enough)!

Arrietty Trailer

Disney has released the official English-language trailer for The Secret World of Arrietty (known as The Borrower Arrietty in Japan), the latest Studio Ghibli film set for a February 2012 release in the United States. Strangely, Disney made a completely different English dub for its release in Britain a few months back…Don’t know the reason for two different English versions, but who cares! A new Studio Ghibli film is on the way.

The trailer can be seen here via Apple. Enjoy.

Stupid Reviewing in Gaming

I make no secret of my general dislike of gaming websites/magazines and their reviews (with little exceptions), mainly because I think they review games based on a number of bogus notions. Here’s a short list of things that annoy me in video game reviews, with brief intake on why they annoy me. Read more

My Thoughts on WWE’s Vengeance Results

Okay, just like Night of Champions and Hell in a Cell, I didn’t order WWE’s Vengeance pay-per-view (sorry, with the exception of the “big four” I tend to only get WWE pay-per-views when the cards are extra promising). As such, I’m not reviewing the pay-per-view or any of its matches, just giving my thoughts on the results of the show. And here they are. Read more

Skyward Sword gets a Perfect 10 from Edge!

The first review for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword has been counted, and it’s a perfect 10 from England’s notoriously critical (but usually right) Edge Magazine.

This makes Skyward Sword only the fourteenth game in the magazine’s long history to achieve a perfect score, as well as being the fifth Nintendo game, second Zelda game (after Ocarina of Time) and third Wii game (after Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel) to do so.

Being a huge Nintendo and Zelda fan, this is just that much more reason to be excited for this much-anticipated entry in one of gaming’s two most legendary franchises. November is going to be huge.

*Slight correction: As it turns out Edge’s review is actually the second review for Skyward Sword, the first was a score of 98% from Official Nintendo Magazine. Although I have my gripes with those .1 rating systems, a 98% is the (tied) highest score ONM has given a game. So that’s good.*

Upcoming Disney Re-Releases

While I write a slew of video game reviews and top 5/10 lists, I figured I’d report this (admittedly old, by internet standards) bit of news.

Following the great success of the theatrical re-release of The Lion King last month, Disney has decided to re-release a number of other Disney and Pixar movies over the next couple of year, with added 3D visuals (for better or for worse). Read more

Real Steel Review

"Wolverine coaches the Iron Giant. You betta' recognize!"

Rock’em Sock’em Robots…I mean, Real Steal, tells a story in the near future, where robots take duke it out in boxing rings (controlled by humans, of course). But is Real Steel just a silly little novelty? Or is it the real deal (sorry)? Read more

My Thoughts on WWE’s Hell in a Cell Results

Just like Night of Champions two weeks ago (wow, WWE has pay-per-views two weeks from each other…really?) I didn’t watch the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, so I’m not going to give a rundown of my opinions on the matches themselves. Instead I’m just writing how I feel about the results of the show.
