Top 5 Films of 2012 (Golden Yammy)

Well, I guess now I’ve gone from being late with my movie awards to just plain procrastinating. But better late than never, I suppose. I did most of my movie awards in March, but here are my top 5 movies of 2012. I was going to do a full-on top 10 like previous years, but found ordering most of them to be pretty tedious. It can be hard to choose between great movies, but I selected my top 5 based primarily on how much I saw them, how much I think I’ll be watching them in the future (never underestimate the power of rewatchability), and how much I think I’ll be talking/thinking about them down the road. As such, this list may appear a bit…nerdish. But oh well. I know I usually mix in some blockbusters with award-winners with some obscurities in-between. But this year it’s pretty consistent from me.

With that said, let me give some very strong honorable mentions in Argo, Lincoln, and Skyfall. I’m sure I’m even forgetting some great ones, but those ones definitely stand out.

Anyway, here are my top five favorite films of 2012 (about time).

Sorry this isn’t sooner I’ve been trying to leave a comment every day and they never show :/

The Hobbit was amazballs.. in fact most the people I know liked it even more than any of the LOTR movies… I personally thought the addition of CGI was a slight downgrade but they worked with it very well and over all I feel the movie lived up to the series expectations…

I sadly was never given the opportunity to see the Avengers :( I certainly will when I can though I was excited for it but things just didn’t work out…

I feel obligated to see Wreck it Ralph if only for the theme…(plus I’m obsessed with animated fims) My buddy apparently owns it I randomly found out so I’ll be watching that soon… depressingly I’ve heard mostly “meh” things but I tend to not listen to opinions especially on animated stuff and seeing as you like it that’s a good sign even if we don’t agree on everything.

Batman… unfortunately I didn’t like it… I mean I thought it was alright but I thought it was a bit overrated… I found the previous movies to be way better… most the people I know loved it but I can’t help how I felt about it so whatevers…

Great top 5 none the less… THIS BETTER FREAKING POST JEESUS!!!!(I just decided to post this here sense it wasn’t working on your blog)

I’m actually glad you left your comment here, this is my primary blogging space. GS is kind of a bonus. Plus, I only get so many legitimate comments here (you’d be surprised just how much spam I need to filter through) so it’s nice to get some feedback here.
