Just as I did last year, I have decided to compile a list of games of the year that I am most excited for. Read more

You'll be hooked on the brothers!
Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story is the third installment in the Mario & Luigi series, which is, like the Paper Mario series, a spiritual sequel of sorts to the legendary Super Mario RPG. The various Mario RPG series have met great acclaim for unique takes on the RPG genre and the Mario franchise. I am very happy to say that Bowser’s Inside Story follows in this tradition. Read more
Time now for part 2 of my adventures at E3. I suppose I really don’t need much more of an introduction than that this time around.. Read more
This past week I had the honor of attending my first ever E3! I know what you’re thinking, “Is Slogan Yams that important?” My guess is that I must be humoring someone important, which then permitted me to attend the event.
I intended to have this post up earlier but complications prevented that from happening. Besides, I highly doubt I would be the first person one would go to to find out about E3. But I decided to post about my experience and share what games I am most looking forward to on the horizon! Read more
Hey Hey! What do we have here? Another one of thems “top 100 games lists” eh? This one comes from VGCharts, which is a website. It involves video games. I have decided to post it here, and once again write my own commentary that I find kind of delightful (but not in an arrogant way). Here is the top 100!
I must say, despite the fact that I have never read a full issue of EDGE Magazine, I have more respect for them than nearly every other video game publication out there just from what I’ve read online. They just have a more respectable nature about them. Once again I have to point out the whole “It doesn’t matter what the magazines and websites say all that matters are what games are your favorites” nature that I have, but once again I just think these lists can be pretty fun. And EDGE Magazine seems quite fond of making these lists, as they did it previously in 2004 and 2007. But their list is a bit different this time around and they have even dubbed it “the 100 best games to play today” which is more or less a way of saying it’s a best game ever list without outright saying it. Without further waisting your time, here’s the list (with some commentary). Read more
Even though I’ve always been the type of person to think “it doesn’t matter what the magazines and the websites say if you like the game that’s all that matters!” I still like to see some of these “best games ever” lists and see where my favorites rank. One of the most recent of these lists is Official Nintendo Magazine’s top 100 Nintendo games list. I decided I may as well post the list here and give a little commentary on the choices. Read more
2008 saw a lot of highs and lows in the realms of movies and video games. Records were broken, hype was built and classics were born. But besides The Dark Knight there were a lot of other cool things too. Robots fell in love, brothers were Super Smashed and Metal Gear’s convoluted plot lines were unraveled (and still left some confused). And then there’s The Love Guru! Read more
Nintendo recently announced that Sora, Kirby and Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai’s personal video game studio, is being reformed as Project Sora, a full blown studio for Nintendo. The studio is already working on a top secret project that is so secret all we know about it is that it isn’t Smash Bros., but something entirely new. And according to Sora’s (ahem! Project Sora’s) new website “The thoughts of game designer Masahiro Sakurai and Nintendo have become one, and a new project has started. In order to expand what can be offered to the world through games, we will have Nintendo’s full cooperation and make something that Nintendo could not do on its own”. No word yet on whether the game is for the Wii or DS, but given the secretive nature of the project, I would speculate it’s for the Wii (handheld games are rarely ever kept secretive for some reason). One thing is for sure, I’m already excited for this mystery game.
