Up Review

Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon?!

Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon?!

I feel somewhat guilty that I just now have my review for Pixar’s newest feature, Up. But quite frankly, this one took me awhile to get right, and for all the right reasons. It wasn’t like the case with Transformers, in which I felt a cold indifference, but rather that Up is so great, I literally had a hard time trying to describe it.  It is just that unbelievably good. G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Review

*Note: I never like to spoil any details of a movie in my reviews, but in this case I may spoil some of the nature of plot twists, but I’ll refrain from outright spoiling anything. So if you want to see this movie and don’t want any kind of details spoiled whatsoever, you may want to wait to read this.

Porkchop Sandwitches!

Pork-chop Sandwiches!

This is a terrible movie. You may as well know that. In fact, calling this movie terrible may be insulting to one of my most used adjectives. Read more

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Review

Note: I always try to refrain from spoiling too much of any movie, which was particularly difficult when writing about this film. So some things will be left a little vague in this review, but I’m sure any Harry Potter fan would already know what I’m talking about.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the sixth and penultimate chapter in the Harry Potter saga (although the final act will be divided into two films), and to many, the best entry in the series. But just how does The Half-Blood Prince fair as a film? Read more

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs Review

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is the third installment in the Ice Age series of animated films. Usually, by the third film most series tend to run out of steam, but how does Ice Age’s third outing fair? Read more

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Review

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is the sequel to 2007’s Transformers, and had many fans of the classic franchise anxiously awaiting its release, but did it live up to the hype? Read more

Terminator Salvation Review

The Terminator franchise has always been an interesting one. The plots never made too much sense and they were very action heavy, yet the first two received much acclaim and are even considered classics despite this, whereas other such films usually get shunned.  Even Terminator 3 received a mostly positive reception. But how well does Terminator Salvation live up to the Terminator name? Especially with the absence of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Read more

Star Trek Review

Yams’ log, number 99: I have recently been beamed into a movie theater to see the new Star Trek film and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is the review of said movie. Read more

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Review

The X-Men movie franchise has been pretty inconsistent if not anything else. X-Men 1 was pretty decent, X-Men 2 was really good and X-Men 3…ehh not so much (I did enjoy Kelsey Grammer as Beast though, who else would be Beast c’mon). X-Men Origins: Wolverine follows in this tradition with a movie that has its good points, but at the same time can feel a bit shallow in its plot and dialogue and has enough over-the-top super hero ridiculousness in its action sequences to make that absurd Green Goblin costume from Spiderman 1 green(er) with envy. Dragon Ball: Evolution Review

First I would like to get something off of my chest…

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!

I’m sorry about that, but if we don’t laugh, we cry. And there is plenty of laughing and crying when it comes to Dragon Ball Evolution, the cinematic “adaptation” of the famed manga/anime by Akira Toriyama. Read more

Watchmen Review

Before you read the review there are two things you should know: 1: I have yet to read the graphic novel, but I did some reading up on it prior to the film’s release, so I still did know what kind of movie I was seeing, even if it may sound otherwise.

2. I usually try not to review rated R films on this site to keep everything PG rated (if you will), but I’ve been a little slow on the reviews lately so I figured I owed it to my fanbase to review something (I hope he isn’t disappointed). With that said I will not go into too much detail on why this film is rated R (keepin’ it PG here) but just know that just because this classifies as a superhero movie, DON’T TAKE ANY CHILDREN TO SEE IT. I say this because during my viewing a man a few rows behind me brought his son, which he definitely shouldn’t have.

Anywho, on to the business. Read more
