I thought I’d do something different and review the six-minute preview of The Dark Knight Rises that is playing with Imax screenings of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (it in itself will be reviewed soon). Read more
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is the eighth film in the seven-part Harry Potter series (sounds funny, doesn’t it?), and serves as the grand finale of the saga. But does Deathly Hallows 2 end the series on a high note? Or has the magic of Harry Potter run out? Read more
The Adjustment Bureau is a film directed by George Nolfi (who previously wrote Oceans Twelve and The Bourne Ultimatum) and stars Matt Damon and Emily Blunt. The film is, in a sense, a science-fiction thriller, though it’s probably equal parts romantic drama. But in this post-Inception age of movies, does the Adjustment Bureau actually prove to be a standout? Or is just another would-be contender? Read more
2010 proved to be another memorable year in movies for me. It seems the whole 2007-2010 timeframe served up a good number of films that rank amongst my personal favorites for that matter. But 2010 on its own was a standout year. There were a lot of good movies released in 2010, but only a few could rise above and beyond the competition to call themselves “the best movies of 2010.” The following are the films that most stood out for me.
And expect this list to be a bit more… colorful than you might be used to. Read more
It’s that time of year again, award season! It seems everyone and everything has some kind of awards for one thing or another, and it only makes sense (I guess) that I do so as well! Sure, I might be a little late at this (most people hop to this as soon as January starts), but a lot of thought (and procrastination) went into this. Keep in mind that this particular blog contains awards such as “Best Visuals” and “Best Music,” but I will be doing a the “best Movie” award as a separate top 10 post, and my video game awards will closely follow.

*From what I understand a great deal of creative liberties were taken in The Social Network that differ from real events. I’m not here to compare what really happened to what happened in the movie (especially considering I haven’t done much research on this) so no unnecessary comparisons will be made.*
The Social Network tells the story of Mark Zuckerberg, the creator of Facebook, and the events leading up to (and the events afterwards) the creation of the Social Networking site. But is The Social Network a movie you should “like” or “ignore?” Read more
Secretariat is a film about the racehorse whom many consider to be the greatest of all time (Secretariat, obviously). Does Secretariat fall flat on its face? Or is it a film that races to the finish line? Read more
Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (my word, that is an awful title) is the sequel to the 1987 film Wall Street (it seems the popular thing to do these days is make a sequel to a twenty-year old movie). It, like the 1987 original, is directed by Oliver Stone and stars Michael Douglas. Shia LaBeouf, Josh Brolin and Carey Mulligan also star in this sequel. But does Money Never Sleeps prove to be a money-maker? Or is it looking for a bailout? Read more
