It has been very apparent that I have had a great draught in reviews lately, and I apologize. Things have been busier (and more hectic) for me these past few months, and I’ve had less time to write these blogs. Pretty soon my schedule will be getting busy (and hectic) once again, so I will desperately try to make up for lost time. I have a number of movie reviews I hope to get done (mainly The Muppets, Adventures of Tin Tin, Sherlock Holmes and Mission Impossible) and a slew of video game reviews to boot. Though keep in mind that these reviews may be shorter than a lot of my more recent reviews have been, due to my aforementioned busying schedule and the fact that I have other things to write (like my Yammy Awards) and other stuff I have planned. So hopefully I can get those done…and not have to resort to another “here’s hoping stuff comes soon” blog like this one…
With 2011 coming to a close (and still a number of reviews to catch up on) it’s time to look onward to 2012 and what it has in store (which hopefully includes those reviews I need to catch up on), and one of the first things I have planned for the new year are my annual “Yammy” awards!
I decided to do things a little differently this year, and will start with my video game awards (which will hopefully get done in the earlier parts of January) and do my movie awards a little later. Of course, the video game awards will be split in two, with the first “half” consisting of the majority of awards, and part two being a top ten countdown of my favorite games of 2011 (Game of the Year).
So there’s something to look forward to real soon…assuming anyone reads these blogs well enough to care. So stay tuned for the 2011 Yammy Awards!
HUZZAH!
Like Bilbo’s eleventy-first birthday celebration, this blog is a party of special magnificence, as it is the 400th blog I’ve written on this site!
HALF A CHEER FOR 400 BLOGS!
I know, my updates have been a bit infrequent as of late (despite what you might think, I have a little something resembling a real life…and I mean besides video games), and this filler post doesn’t do much to rectify this. But I figured I’d let my readership (all two of them) know that I’m very close to approaching my 400th blog here on this site, and after that I hope to catch up on some video game reviews, since I feel I’ve been neglecting them for a while. Happy anniversary to the video game, and its two icons, who started it all. Happy 30th, Mario and DK!
*More detailed celebratory Mario thing to come. In the meantime, here’s a retrospective I wrote on the Mario series before the release of Super Mario Galaxy 2 last year.*
Sorry my updates have been scarce lately, I’ve been exceedingly lazy kind of busy. But I hope to have some reviews and top 10 lists (and the like) up soon, so I hope you’ll enjoy those. And with Captain America and Harry Potter looming in it looks like I’ll have even more stuff to get cracking on…be patient with me. Time for more Super Smash Bros….I mean, work.
Catchy Portal song aside, I apologize for my lack of any kind of update this last week. I have been lazy.
I’m going to try to make up for lost time. Expect reviews for Kung Fu Panda 2, X-Men: First Class and Portal 2 in the coming days, as well as my personal take on E3 stuff and some other whozits and whatzits galore. Now if you’ll excuse me…I’ve got to go…place.
I’ve been a little burned out after completing my “Best Animated Films of 2000 to 2009″ list, so I haven’t had anything up for a few days. But rest assured I am working on some new reviews for movies, as well as a good few video game reviews. I am also beginning my annual “Yammy Awards” soon, and am still finalizing that “Best Video Games Ever” list that so many good people have helped contribute to.
So sorry for slow updating recently, just know I’m working on a bunch of stuff and will have some of it up soon.
And so, 2010 is closing up shop, and 2011 is opening its doors. Read more
