After a nine month absence, Strong Bad Emails have finally returned to Homestarrunner.com! The newest email seems to bring the world of SBemails and HRemails (Homestar Runner emails) full circle. I wonder if the HRemails will continue? Either way, it’s fun to see the emailinest guy in the land return to his throne.
Here is the latest Strong Bad Email http://www.homestarrunner.com/hremail3184.html
Today, June the sixth, 2009, marks the 25th anniversary of one of the true “perfect games” of the universe….Tetris!
Tetris is the incomparable puzzle game, and one of the most important and influential games ever created. 25 years later, and Tetris has been re-released, recreated, and re-imagined on virtually every console, handheld and computer ever made, and is the most widely played video game of all time.
Tetris has proven to not only be a landmark in video games, but an immortal icon in pop-culture as well, and even something of cultural significance .
So congratulations to Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov, for creating a timeless masterpiece in the world of video games that is as successful today as it was 25 years ago.
So why not sit back and play one of the (countless) variations of this classic game, and let it delve its way into your subconscious, haunt you in your dreams (in a good way) and even effect the way you think!
Happy 25 years Tetris.
*On a side note, I was at E3 this past week and will have a post about it up ASAP*

In order to celebrate the 5th day of the 5th month, or Cinco De Mayo, I have decided to post an unprecedented five posts on the same day! But of course this post right here had to count as one of the five, otherwise I would have six posts today which would not only break the whole point the “five posts” thing, but if I said I had five posts today but really had six, than I would be a liar. And I would have to eat a grumble cake, because only liars and thieves eat grumble cakes, and those peoples go to prison.
Why not enjoy my other posts which include:
No New Consoles Until 2013?
Next issue of EDGE to Reveal Pikmin 3?
X-Men Origins: Wolverine Review
The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels
Happy Cinco De Milo and Otis…I mean Cinco De Mayo!
I’m not talking about the catchy song from the ending credits to the video game Portal, Just giving a blunt update regarding my lack of updates as of late. I apologize for that and I’ll be sure to have some “real” posts up soon. I’ll have some movie and game reviews, best and worst lists, rants and insight about video games and all that stuff that makes SloganYams the obscure yet somewhat whimsicle blog that it is.
The updates are NOT a lie (another Portal reference, isn’t that just wonderful).
I’ve been a little bit slow on the updates as of late it seems. So here is a little something just for fun. To continue the celebration of a whole year of SloganYams, I’ve decided to include some random trivia about the site. Read more
Today, April 6th, marks the one year anniversary of the Sloganyams website! Well, in reality it was made in December of 2007, but that was an early version and I only updated it like three times. So today marks the one year anniversary since I actually started doing stuff with the website. Sloganyams has come along way since my incredibly short review of Spiderman 3, and who knows all the places it will go (my guess is it will still basically be the same, but with like a whole lot more stuff crammed in it).
HAPPY YAMSIVERSARY!
For those of you who are unaware, today (March 10) is the unofficial holiday to celebrate all things Super Mario (For those wondering, it takes place on March 10 due to the date’s abbreviation looking similar to Mario’s name. Mar.10. Mario. see what I mean?). Why not celebrate this day of Mario by stomping on some Goombas, racing some go-karts, saving a princess or flying through space without the need of a space suit….Or maybe you should just play some of your favorite Mario games.
They should make “It’s Mario Day Charlie Brown!” What? They had an Arbor day special I don’t see why a Mario day one would be so ridiculous.
Anyways, Happy Mario Day!
2008 saw a lot of highs and lows in the realms of movies and video games. Records were broken, hype was built and classics were born. But besides The Dark Knight there were a lot of other cool things too. Robots fell in love, brothers were Super Smashed and Metal Gear’s convoluted plot lines were unraveled (and still left some confused). And then there’s The Love Guru! Read more
It seems like everyone has their own little award ceremonies these days, so I figured I would keep this tradition alive with some awards of my own…the Yammies! I will be naming my personal best in movies, video games and characters of 2008! Who will take home the golden yams? Find out this March!
