Today (Jan. 5) is the 68th birthday of animation living legend Hayao Miyazaki. Miyazaki’s newest film, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, is due for a U.S. release later this year (earlier it was said to be around March or April, but now there is word that it may wait for a Summer release).  Happy Birthday Miyazaki! May he make many more films.

I’ll keep you all (assuming people visit this site) updated on the release plans for Ponyo. Let us hope it will finally get the attention a Miyazaki film deserves in the U.S.

Even though this is a little old now, I figured I would post it anyway because I can!

Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto ended up being number 1 on TIME magazines 100 most influential people! The master game designer managed to top the likes of Al Gore, Will Smith, Lance Armstrong, Arnold Schwarzenegger and even Simon Cowell! Simon Cowell!!

We would like to congratulate Shigeru Miyamoto for earning such a prestigious honor and making such fantastic video games.  Mario for the win!
