Here we go, finally, my top ten films of 2009!

It’s been a long time coming, but I’ve finally gotten to writing all my awards and whatnot. And now it’s time for my countdown of my favorite films of 2009!

But before I get to the top ten, let’s give some recognition to the honorable mentions.

Yammie Awards: Movies (2009)

2009 had its fair share of bad movies, but it also brought us many great ones as well. Here are my awards for the best that movies had to offer in 2009 (Though keep in mind I am waiting to do the big “best film” award for its own post in a top ten countdown). Caution, some spoilers may follow.

The Moldy Yams Awards (Dubious Movie Awards)

Sure we’re in late March now, so some might say I’m late into the best/worst of 2009 stuff by this point. But I don’t care, I’m going at my own pace. Plus I’ve been planning a few other things for this website and whatnot, which have made these big updates take a little longer. And besides, the Oscars themselves waited until March so why can’t I wait a little longer?

Anyway, before I do my Best of 2009 awards, I figured I would get to my Worst of 2009 dubiosities. So without further a word-making -up, I give you the Moldy Yams.

The 2010 Wrestle Man Awards!

*Along with my Yammie Awards (coming soon), I figured this year I would also do some pro-wrestling awards! Keep in mind that this is pretty much just based on WWE wrestling, since I haven’t seen as many matches from Japanese or independent wrestling organizations as I would like to, I can’t honestly include them. Hopefully next time.*

2009 saw a lot of good and entertaining, as well as some really stupid moments in professional wrestling. I decided to do my own wrestling awards dedicated to the best…and worst moments of the 2009 wrestling year. I’ll list the winners as well as a few runners-up for each award.

So without further ranting, the Wrestle Man Awards!

Best of 2008 (Yammie Awards)

2008 saw a lot of highs and lows in the realms of movies and video games. Records were broken, hype was built and classics were born. But besides The Dark Knight there were a lot of other cool things too. Robots fell in love, brothers were Super Smashed and Metal Gear’s convoluted plot lines were unraveled (and still left some confused). And then there’s The Love Guru! Being the fan of movies and games that I am, I thought why not give my thoughts on the cream of the crop of 2008. I may not be the most technical individual, so the “awards” won’t include too many of the categories that you may be used to seeing, I simply like to celebrate movies and games as a whole. And of course I like to celebrate the characters that can make people flock to a theater, pick up a controller, or run screaming. Each award will include a short list of runners-up, but don’t think of them as runners-up, as I also recognize their achievements and they could have also won, so they are given the “silver award” status. I will also include a few honorary awards at the end. I So without further rambling, on to business. Let’s start with the movie awards.
